Would you let any parent show prospective parents around your school? If you are not embracing Social Media in your school then you are not only missing a golden opportunity to showcase your school, but you are allowing prospective parents to be given a virtual tour of your school by your parents. With Social Media an important aspect of so many parents’ lives, it’s never been more important for schools to embrace this and model how to use it. Your parents are already using it so why not fish where the fish are and tap into the world of Social Media to take parental engagement to the next level using free, easy to use and well established tools.

David Mitchell has been a teacher for 18 years and has been a Headteacher of two schools in the north of England. David has always had an interest in getting children enthused writing. Ever since using forums in 2005 with his Year 6 pupils, to get them writing outside of the traditional school day, David’s passion for ‘technology enhanced learning’ has developed over time with his motto ‘If it can’t be used in 2 minutes it’s too long!’ at the forefront of his message to other teachers.
In 2013, David became a freelance consultant on a mission to bring blogging, social media and other technology tools to as many teachers and schools as possible.
