Getting Started with ‘Drama for Learning (The Basics)

ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is for teachers and theatre educators who want to learn how to use ‘Drama for Learning’. You will get guidance on how to negotiate a ‘Drama Contract’ with your class. Twelve key drama strategies will be explained, with examples of when they might be used in a lesson. Particular attention will be paid to the purposeful use of Teacher-in-Role.
A primary drama lesson will be presented, ‘step by step’ with the main learning opportunities highlighted. The shifting roles and functions of the teacher during the lesson, will also be explained.
