Rachel Clark has worked as a Curriculum Advisor for the Standards and Testing Agency advising on the development of the Key Stage 2 mathematics tests. She has been a mathematics teacher, a local authority mathematics consultant, a senior school improvement adviser for mathematics for both primary and secondary phases, and an Ofsted inspector.
She was a core member of the Department for Education’s Effective Practice Team, leading school-based investigations into areas of government priority such as pupil progress, deprivation, disadvantaged groups, assessment and school improvement. At the DfE she also provided professional advice and support for the Making Good Progress Pilot and the National Curriculum Mathematics Review. Rachel now works as an independent consultant for schools and national education organisations.
